Description
Some printers force you to choose: speed or colour, convenience or control. The optimised Kobra S1 comes as a combo set with ACE 2 Pro and brings both together: stable CoreXY mechanics for high speeds, a multicolour system that can be expanded from 4 to up to 16 colours, plus active filament drying during printing.
► What is the difference between the Kobra S1 Combo and the Kobra S1 ACE 2 Pro Combo?
The Kobra S1 printer is identical in both combos. The only difference is the ACE system included. The Kobra S1 Combo comes with the first-generation ACE Pro, which supports up to 8 colours and only dries filament before printing at up to 55 °C, without humidity monitoring or filament run-out detection. The Kobra S1 ACE 2 Pro Combo includes the ACE 2 Pro, which can be expanded to up to 16 colours, dries filament at up to 65 °C even during an active print, and also monitors humidity and detects when filament runs out. As the manufacturer states that the two generations cannot be used together, the ACE 2 Pro version is the better choice for anyone planning to expand later.
Four spools, sixteen possibilities
In its basic configuration, the ACE 2 Pro enables 4-colour printing. By combining four units, the colour range can be expanded to up to 16 colours.
Note: Simultaneous use of 1st and 2nd generation multicolour systems is currently not supported.
Smooth filament feeding
Four independent brushless motors and an upgraded buffer system ensure smooth, jam-free filament feeding and retraction in every channel. The ACE 2 Pro operates at under 48 dB, while the motors are designed for a service life of 25,000 hours.
Tip: The use of cardboard spools is not recommended, as they may affect performance over time.
High-temperature drying up to 65 °C during printing
The ACE 2 Pro dries filament at up to 65 °C while printing is in progress. Integrated temperature and humidity sensors monitor the chamber conditions in real time. An electromagnetic valve actively removes moisture, while a silicone sealing ring provides additional protection against ambient humidity.
Integrated printing assistant
An integrated remaining-filament display and automatic changeover profiles enable seamless filament switching as soon as a spool runs out. Intelligent material recognition automatically reads the parameters of compatible Anycubic filaments, eliminating the need for manual configuration. This requires an internet connection and Anycubic filaments.
Ready for almost any material
The printer is compatible with common materials including PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA and TPU. According to the manufacturer, it is designed for weather- and temperature-resistant applications with ABS/ASA, as well as for high-precision PLA prints, colourful and impact-resistant PETG parts, and soft, abrasion-resistant TPU objects. TPU must be fed directly into the printer and is not compatible with ACE 2 Pro multi-material operation.
Stable in motion, precise in results
The CoreXY design, combined with dual-motor drive and the Kobra OS operating system, reduces vibrations during printing and improves both responsiveness and extruder precision. LeviQ 3.0 handles automatic bed levelling, including Z-axis offset. An integrated acceleration sensor detects resonance frequencies and compensates for them automatically. Flow correction in Kobra OS balances filament extrusion and reduces excess material on model edges. A 1+1+1 cooling system ensures rapid model cooling.
Well thought out down to the details
A dedicated cleaning channel inside the printer makes it easier to remove print residue. The printer is operated via a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen with a reduced, intuitive UI design. In standard mode, the Kobra S1 operates at under 46 dB, while Quiet Mode reduces noise to under 44 dB.
AI monitoring
AI monitoring automatically detects irregularities such as so-called “spaghetti” prints and reports them. Foreign object detection identifies residue in the print area to help prevent failed prints or damage. In the event of a power failure, the printer automatically resumes the job from the interruption point once power is restored.
The Anycubic ecosystem
The Anycubic Slicer Next slicing software is based on the open-source Orca platform and has been specially adapted for Anycubic printers, including LAN mode for local processing without being forced to use the cloud. Several preconfigured parameter sets for different filaments make it easy to get started. Print jobs can be started remotely via the Anycubic app, while print progress can be monitored in real time. The entire print process can also be recorded layer by layer as a time-lapse. On the Makeronline platform, Anycubic also provides an extensive free model library.
