Prusa USS Drybox

The Prusa USS Drybox is a storage solution developed specifically for 3D printing filaments. It reliably protects spools from moisture, ensuring clean surface finishes, stable extrusion, and a reduction in stringing.

The intelligent Drybox was designed from the ground up for both filament storage and direct printing. Instead of being an improvised storage solution, this is a sophisticated, carefully designed system: simply insert the spool and print directly from the box while maintaining protection down to the last metre. Thanks to the use of hydrophobic materials and a high-density seal, internal humidity remains consistently low. Quick-access ports also allow the filament to be loaded without opening the box. In combination with a PTFE tube, the filament can be fed directly to the printer while the box remains completely sealed.

Universal mounting allows for direct attachment to the Prusa spool holder (via a bayonet system), which reduces unnecessary air gaps. Additionally, the stackable design ensures neat, space-saving organisation, making it ideal for print farms and ambitious makers. With up to 95% less moisture absorption, five times better airtightness, and an extremely low air exchange rate (AER 0.15), the USS Drybox achieves an exceptional level of sealing.

The integrated hygrometer and thermometer provide full control and allow temperature and humidity to be monitored at all times. Practical features, such as side access points for rotating the spool or replacing silica gel, and a labelling system for filament identification, make the Drybox a comprehensive and well-considered solution.

Tip: The storage box has space for approximately 50 g of silica gel.
