QIDI Tech Polar Cooler, Q2/Max4/Plus5

The QIDI Tech Polar Cooler is an external cooling system with active air cooling, an integrated condensate filter and cooled air down to 10 °C. It specifically cools the cold side of the extruder and the filament path, helping to prevent heat creep, clogs and inconsistent extrusion.

Warm chamber, cool extruder

A heated chamber helps prevent warping, but it also warms up the extruder. This can cause the filament to soften too early and clog the nozzle. The Polar Cooler addresses this issue directly by directing dry, cooled air to the cold side of the extruder and keeping the filament firm until just before the melt zone.

Dry air thanks to the condensate filter

An integrated condensate filter removes moisture from the cooled air. This keeps the filament dry on its way to the extruder and prevents condensation from forming around the feed area.

Large PLA parts without edge lift

Active chamber heating and the Polar Cooler make it possible to print large-format PLA parts without the edges lifting. When printing PLA, the chamber temperature should not exceed 45 °C to avoid clogs and print defects. As a general rule, the chamber temperature should not be higher than the softening point of the filament.

Easy installation

The Polar Cooler is positioned externally and connected to the printer; no modifications to the print head are required. The temperature is controlled by a closed-loop system.
