Description
3DJake ecoPLA Refill has the proven properties of the popular ecoPLA filament in a streamlined form. Instead of a disposable spool, the filament comes as a refill designed for use with compatible reusable spools. This option reduces packaging material and plastic waste while maintaining reliable printing results.
ecoPLA is based on PLA (polylactic acid), a biodegradable plastic optimised specifically for 3D printing. As a result, the filament is exceptionally easy to process. It is perfectly suited for daily applications such as prototypes, decorative objects, and functional models.
During the printing process, ecoPLA delivers the classic advantages of PLA, including low shrinkage, minimal warping, and reliable print bed adhesion. Printed components retain their dimensional stability and shape, even during extended print jobs. Precision manufacturing and strict tolerances ensure consistent filament feeding for stable printing results.
Furthermore, the material produces very little odour, making it ideal for use at home, in the office, or in the workshop. Compared to conventional PLA, ecoPLA also features enhanced toughness and reduced brittleness, which makes the printed parts more resilient in everyday use.

Bubbly Bendy PLA
It was completely unusable out of the wrap because of moisture. The wrap it came in had ripped from the sides, allowing moisture in. During printing it bubbled and bent a lot. After few hours in the oven at 60-70 degrees Celsius it was good again and didn't bubble, but it had become rigid. Later I realized it was a boon since I didn't have big enough spool for it, so the rigidness helped with the intake in my extruder. It was still a little bendy but nothing that would have ruined a print.
I guess it's fine if you don't mind some wet work. Was this rating helpful? (0) (0)

Good filament, bad spool winding
Material is awesome and produces good looking parts. But the way the spool comes loosely held together with loose zip ties makes me uneasy when printing long hours. I am constantly paranoid about the filament getting stuck on the spool but luckily that hasn't happened yet. Still, even placing the filament on the master spool needs great care as to not unravel the whole thing and end up with a filament mess. There are refill spools with better windings out there in my opinion but 3D Jakes's is cheaper and when buying enough to enable free shipping, I'll keep buying these. But only if the bad spool winding doesn't cause problems down the road where I'm forced to waste material.
